This Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi... the pomp and show of the festival matches d big name of Lord Ganesha in the Indian Mythology ( though I would not lk to call it a mythology coz I believe its nt a myth ) but after every party you organize thr is a cleaning up of d space... isnt it?? and especially if the party is yours and on your land, ( coz no one cares to clean other persons land)...

But the sad truth to which we still remain blindfolded is the aftermath of Ganesh Chaturthi... yup Ganesh Chaturthi's aftermath !!! Though its our own celebration and our city belongs to us but then also we knowingly or unknowingly remain ignorant to some facts...
Without wastin space nd time, I would like to enumerate a few of them..
* The idols are made up of Plaster of paris which acts as a polluer fr the water wherein the idols are immersed..
*The beaches nd the pathways are covered with plastic bottles, flowers, nd the litter strewn all over.
* The crackers used nw a dys adds to d air pollution and it becomes difficult fr old age persons to evn breathe, nd don frgt these are dose who ve given us dese festivals to celebrate...

For those who don believe in d above things nd say that God will care fr everyone, you would atleast nt lk to see your God whom you cared fr so many dys in such a pathetic condition, d day aftr u performed Ganesh Visarjan..

Wht is needed is proper regulations in places so as to minimize, if not curb totally, this pollution

  3. well its not merely d festivals dat r troubling us...even if we impose restrictions on d kind of things...we ain't gonna hav control over pollution levels significantly...albeit upto some extent....coz people here can do anything in d name of god....they'll certainly flout d rules.....we'd be helped if we could somehow change our people's mindset....dat could lead us to a solution to such kind of problems ( i guess)...
